Facing cuts in federal subsidies, next year Great Southern Rail will cut back on frequencies of its two iconic long haul trains, the India Pacific between Sydney and Perth and the Ghan, between Adelaide and Darwin. In addition, they will be reducing discounts for seniors from as much as 55 percent to down to 20 percent.
